Hello, my name is Niharika Alam and I like coding and cats! When I am not writing code or creating graphics on my free time, I like to take nature walks and watch animal videos on YouTube. Pandas are my favorite. Being a woman in computer science has bought my attention to the gap between technology and the natural world. This has inspired me to one day bridge this gap by creating technologies that will contribute to helping the environment. I also enjoy reading and writing short stories often.
Projects
The Hive
The Hive is a multi-user system built for anyone in search of joining or creating groups to collaborate on a project together. This is achieved by a web interface that connects users from across the world that share similar interests and inspire others with the projects already created.
Vestigia
Vestigia is a social media platform that helps keep track of a user's application status during the hiring process as well as enables them to share the details of these jobs with other users. This simultaneously helps users discover new job opportunities that their friends share.

DOE Tech Support Intern, Research Foundation of CUNY | Sep 2020 - Present
- Managing data tracking systems and creating online systems via Google forms/sheets.
- Assisting in the setup of new computer equipment and installing software.
- Ensuring that projectors, smart boards, and printers are functioning.
Summer Intern, SYEP Summer Bridge Program | Jun 2020 - Aug 2020
- Formed a team to create a product that protects against the spread of the Covid-19 virus and raise awareness of colorism.
- Designed a logo for product using Adobe Photoshop.
